I’ve waited over a year to make this review, and I felt now it was finally time. Let me start off by saying that I was extremely skeptical of being seen for my TMJ issues. I had seen another TMJ specialist that just did an x ray and they told me that it was all muscular and that there was nothing that could be done besides Botox, which I wasn’t willing to do. I had absolutely no quality of life at that time. I was only able to eat mashed potatoes, protein shakes, and smoothies for EIGHT MONTHS straight. I cried every single day. I had to talk using an app. I had to wear cotton balls in my ears and couldn’t even go up/down elevators due to the pressure in my ears. I literally couldn’t swallow sometimes. I couldn’t hang out with friends. I couldn’t go to restaurants. I couldn’t work. I didn’t even want to live most of the time it was so bad. It was absolutely awful. By the grace of God, my dentist referred me to Masterpiece Smiles. From the moment I walked in, I felt so cared for. I felt like they genuinely wanted to help me. Of course, I was still skeptical. It was expensive, but I had received almost the exact amount of money needed for this treatment around that exact time, so I knew God had led me to this exact place for me to get this treatment done. So I agreed and started in November of 2023. I was a very difficult patient. I questioned EVERYTHING. I really prolonged the process due to fear, doubt, and anxiety. I could’ve been so much better so much faster if I just would’ve listened to Dr. Mike and his team, but regardless, Dr. Mike practiced such patience, calmness, and genuine love throughout the entire thing. He never got mad- he just calmly would explain how it was going to help me and what the problems were that I needed fixed. Fast forward to now (March 2025). It’s been over a year now and I haven’t had to pay anything besides that one upfront cost. Some insurances will actually reimburse most if not all you paid if you submit a claim. The staff here will help provide what you need for this too. That initial cost that I paid upfront has covered countless visits, countless procedures, supplies, examinations, imaging, and I am now at the point where I can work. I can talk. I can eat. I can hang out with friends. No more cottonballs. No more talking apps. I have SUCH good quality of life again. I actually cry about it sometimes because I can’t believe it. This saved my life. I was always told that there was no cure for TMJ- well clearly that is wrong. Dr. Mike has had intensive schooling, is always researching new studies, and uses tried and tested methods to heal TMJ and jaw issues. I also appreciated how natural he kept it with his products and the entire process because I refuse medications. Very holistic in a lot of ways which I loved. The staff has been SO nice too. Everyone genuinely cares. Every single thing is wrote down, even the smallest thing, and the communication is so clear between everyone. This is the most professional establishment I’ve ever been to. They clearly know what they’re doing. I would seriously recommend this to anyone who is struggling with TMJ issues. I just can’t imagine where I would be if I would’ve never came here.
